About The Ranch

Mad Wolf Ranch is located along the eastern front of the Rocky Mountains, an ecological transition zone where mixed-grass prairies of the Great Plains meet the north-south running reefs of the Rocky Mountain Front.
This landscape is home to wide-ranging animals like grizzly bears which roam from mountains to prairies, and birds that travel the Central Flyway from northeastern Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.
Mad Wolf ranch encompasses wetlands and riparian bottoms, along with native grassland and savannah. The wetland includes a fen, where vegetation grows on water-saturated peat that is fed by mineral-rich groundwater. The fen contains a diverse complex of sedge and shrub dominated communities that shelter a number of Montana’s rare plant species. The grasslands here are dominated by Rough Fescue, a large bunchgrass that is an important food source form many grazing animals. Limber Pines scattered in the grasslands create a diverse savannah habitat.
Mad Wolf Ranch manages their land with tools such as bison grazing, weed control, and resource monitoring.
Management

Wes and Summer Graham moved to the Blackfeet Reservation in March of 2006 and it didn’t take long to fall in love with the beautiful land and people. With a focus on walking alongside others to know Jesus and affirm God-given identity, they worked in ranching, the school system, outdoor education, churches and emotional healing small groups. Four kids and many life lessons later, Wes and Summer still have their heart set on being a part of seeing Creator Jesus’ love heal pain and transform lives. They best engage in this through hands-on work and learning through the land with family-life central. Wes has worked for the Mad Wolf Ranch since 2010 and he truly loves stewarding the animals and land in a way that people can best experience the attributes of God. Wes and Summer are so grateful for the relationships that are forged and grow each year at the Mad Wolf and they look forward to being a part of providing a safe place for groups to explore and encounter Creator’s abundant life and purposes.
Facility

The ranch’s current facility sleeps twenty-three people in cabins and wall tents. In addition, the ranch has hookups for four RV’s and tent spaces for overflow. The majority of our use is June through September. Over the years much of the infrastructure that makes this venture possible has been purchased and built. Physical structures and facilities have been built such as, bunk houses, energy production (currently a wind turbine with plans of adding solar), bridge, roads, wells, septic and power. Equipment has been purchased for recreational opportunities not limited to camping, horses and water activities.
Activities

The ranch provides day and multi-day stays and helps facilitate mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, rafting, fishing and other outdoor activities.

A Focus Point
As part of that creation, our intent is to care for that which God has given us responsibility over.
